It's a pretty exciting day when a local news station stops by a first-grade classroom to surprise an educator, and the students at Specht Elementary were more than happy to join in on the celebration for their beloved teacher.

Comal ISD was well-represented at state meets this year in wrestling and swim. In fact, the gold and bronze medalists in state 6A wrestling are Smithson Valley High School athletes.

Comal ISD will be well represented at this year's Alamo Region First Lego League Championship Tournament with nine teams competing. This year the district hosted a qualifying tournament that included 31 teams from every elementary campus and several middle school campuses.

Comal ISD is administering the SAT exam to all currently enrolled 11th-grade students on Wednesday, March 23, at their high school campus.
