The Junior Reserves Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) program is offered on five high school campuses. From scholarship opportunities to career mentorship, JROTC prepares students for the future.
More than 100 pieces of art created by students from nine campuses in the Canyon High School feeder pattern were featured in the first districtwide art show of the school year on October 15.
This summer, 34 Comal ISD students participated in Texas Boys State and Texas Girls State leadership programs where they received a crash course on government. They ran for office, hosted elections, conducted committee hearings, drafted legislation and more.
The winners of this year's Kids with heART Comal ISD art contest will be announced during the district's annual Dyslexia Awareness Night on Thursday, Oct. 17. Families are invited to learn more about dyslexia and how the district addresses the needs of students identified with the learning disability.

Fitch Ratings recently upgraded Comal ISD's credit rating to a 'AA+' which is just one step below the highest rating on the Fitch scale. Over time, this rating will save taxpayers several million dollars in interest costs.
Four Comal ISD students were named Outstanding Performer at the Texas State Solo Ensemble Contest in May, and two students received the Outstanding Performer title at the 2024 UIL State Wind Ensemble Festival.
