Four Canyon High Students Advance To State FCCLA Leadership Conference

April 2, 2024 - Four Comal ISD students from Canyon High School will be competing at the state leadership conference for Family, Career & Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) April 12-14 in Dallas.

The students advancing to the state competition include the following FCCLA members from CHS:

  • Isla Burns in Early Childhood Education.
  • Thomas Spiehs in Interior Design
  • Emmanuel Salazar in Interior Design 
  • Nicholas Bowling in Interior Design

The four along with their adviser and teacher Precious Aujon were recognized by the Comal ISD Board of Trustees during its meeting on March 28.

A Career & Technical Education or CTE organization, FCCLA offers students interested in family and consumer sciences with opportunities to pursue careers that support families.

A student-led organization, FCCLA challenges members to learn important life skills including leadership, planning, goal setting, problem solving, decision-making and interpersonal communication. and challenges members to compete in leadership opportunities.
