As the new principal, I am truly honored to be part of this exceptional campus; a campus that values one another, our students, our parents, and our community. I am committed to ensuring high academic excellence for all students, open communication between campus and families, and continued excellence in all things Davenport.
Our mission is to provide every child with the highest quality education possible so that each student will graduate with the skills needed to contribute and thrive in this changing world. Canyon Lake High School senior Carter Williams continues his family legacy with a path to success in all three major high school sports - football, basketball, and baseball.
Families, teammates, coaches and friends celebrated 37 student athletes in the final athletic signing day events of the school year at Canyon, Canyon Lake, Davenport, Pieper and Smithson Valley high schools. They will continue playing their sport at the collegiate level.
Empowering students with real-world skills such as reducing waste through recycling and upcycling is her passion, and one of the reasons Kimberly Reynolds was named a finalist for the Environmental Educator of the Year award.
The Smithson Valley High School Winter Guard team won the State Championship for the Texas Color Guard Circuit. Additionally, every high school in Comal ISD was represented at a state winter guard competition this season.
Smithson Valley junior Clarissa Wallace defended her SkillsUSA Practical Nursing state title and picked up two more while her fellow Rangers earned eight gold, eight silver and one bronze in the health science competition.
Thirteen CTE criminal justice students from Canyon High School qualified for state SkillsUSA competition with the Community Emergency Response Team placing third.
With fun incentives like snacks, free books and, of course, bragging rights, the NCAA Read to the Final Four made reading a big deal for third-grade students across the San Antonio area, and Comal ISD students found themselves picking up books whenever they had the chance. One campus made it all the way to the Sweet 16.
