The Davenport High School Band offers a comprehensive instrumental music program. During the fall, the band competes, travels, and performs at football games, marching competitions, pep rallies, and other spirit events. During the Spring, the band participates in the UIL solo and ensemble competitions and the UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation. 


Band students earn a full Fine Arts credit each year and a half PE credit for the first two years. All students in Band are required to participate in the marching band. Band is a class that meets during the school day.

The Davenport Color Guard is a section of the Davenport High School Band. During the fall, they compete, travel, and perform with the Davenport Marching Band. Some events include varsity football games, in and out of town competitions, and spirit events. During the Spring, the color guard travels throughout the state to compete in winter guard competitions. Colorguard is a class that meets 1st period.

As a color guard member, students will learn a variety of dance and performance skills. They also learn to spin a variety of equipment such as: flags, rifle, and sabre. There is no experience necessary! We can teach you everything you need to know!
